Information activities

The main objectives of the promotion and communication measures within the project are aimed at informing the general public about the implementation of the project Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change in the City of Žilina and its support from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014 - 2021 through relationship management and effective communication with the public through a combination of several tools.

These include the introductory and closing conferences, the creation of a website, a competition for children, the creation of a leaflet and brochure, information boards and other promotional materials.

Introductory online conference:

Competition for children:

One of the aims of the project is to raise awareness of climate change among the city's residents. The competition for children called "I am an eco-hero" is aimed at the target group of children from the fourth year of primary school. It is an art competition with the aim to let children think about how they can contribute to mitigating climate change and to encourage them that even small actions count

An expert committee will look at the drawings, evaluate them. Selected works will be exhibited in the premises of the municipal office.

As part of the project "Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change in the City of Žilina," a competition called "I AM AN ECO HERO" took place from April 21, 2022, to May 31, 2022.

Several primary and nursery schools in Žilina participated in the competition:

Children's Club

The competition was for 4th grade students, who were tasked with the question, "How can we contribute to improving the climate situation on our planet?" Each participating student was to draw how they would help change the world's climate for the better.
Subsequently, all participants were rewarded with interesting gifts (each student received a pen, t-shirt, cap, backpack, and a set of crayons). A total of 314 children participated in the competition with several pieces.

The evaluation of the pieces took place on June 15, 2022, when the evaluation committee selected the 30 best pieces, which will be exhibited from June 20, 2022, in the hall at the City Hall. At the same time, the authors of the three winning pieces (also published below in the photo gallery of the website) will be additionally awarded interesting prizes.
