The Forest Park Chrasť is of citywide importance with basic elements of green infrastructure. It is located between the residential areas Vlčince and Solinky. It is a popular urban recreational area and provides its visitors with the option to engage in various sports activities (running, cross-country skiing, cycling, Nordic walking). There are playgrounds, playground climbers and other attractions for children. There is also a small restaurant on site.

The Forest Park Chrasť faces dangerous diseases and problems with tree health every year. Its composition of tree species should therefore be changed. Spruces and ash trees will be gradually replaced by other tree species that are better able to adapt to a warmer and drier climate. In the past, there were agricultural plots near the forest park, including old orchards.

The implementation of the project will result in the outplanting of 87 fruit trees and 88 other suitable trees, which is fully in line with the use of the areas for improvement of public space. This is an initiative to return fruit trees back into the environment.

In addition to adaptation to climate change, a major benefit is to increase the amount and diversity of fauna and flora represented in the area. A space suitable for insects, birds and small fauna will be created.

The planted areas can also be used for leisure activities of residents in regards to the care of fruit trees, as well as for the education of children and young people.
