Reduction of energy intensity of the Kindergarten of Andrej Kmeťo

The goals of the reconstruction, which will be carried out in the Kindergarten of Andrej Kmeťo in Žilina, are to reduce the energy intensity of the building and to improve the conditions in the school through interior modifications.

The renovation will focus on reducing the energy intensity of the building by improving the thermal performance of the building envelope, foundation, roof and floor. Reducing the heat permeability of the building envelope with thermal insulation not only helps to reduce the spread of cold from the exterior during the cold part of the year, but also helps to keep the interior cooler during the heat of summer.

The water heating and heating and ventilation systems will also be renovated.

Reducing the energy intensity of the building will contribute to reducing CO2 emissions.

The use of a light-colored surface on the facade of the kindergarten will prevent overheating of the facade due to better radiation reflection, reduce temperature fluctuations between day and night and bring savings in regard to air conditioning and heating costs.

The kindergarten on Andrej Kmeťo Street is currently attended by 114 children.
